One of the best product
September 2025
The Atomberg Intellon water purifier is currently one of the most modern and future-ready options in the market. It comes with a sleek, premium design, a 7-stage purification system, and an 8-liter storage tank. The adaptive filtration system automatically selects the right purification mode based on the TDS of the water, which helps extend filter life and reduces water wastage. App support allows you to monitor filter health, TDS levels, and usage details. The two-year warranty and no AMC requirement make it even more attractive.
At the same time, some users have reported issues such as units arriving dead on delivery or showing errors within a few days. Service support is not always fast, and complaints may take time to resolve. The adaptive mode relies only on TDS readings and cannot detect heavy metals, which raises some safety concerns. It is also power-dependent, meaning water dispensing becomes difficult without electricity. In areas with low water pressure, a booster pump may be required, and at times, the digital touch sensors or buttons may glitch. There are also reports of more water being wasted during the auto-cleanse process.
Use RO section only if TDS demands, can change output TDS
Had to give a detailed review. So took time. I had used this machine only for couple of weeks. So it is too early to comment on few aspects and I will come back and edit/add those things.
I was comparing mainly two three purifiers. The fundamental question in my mind was whether to use a RO or simply go for UV+UF kind of things. Why? Because in our area of Hyd we do get municipal water and its TDS is typically 300 measured by a hand held meter. And it is NOT too good to reduce the Salts in your water and call it pure. So only few machines of fewer companies had this features.
Now second point compared to typically around 1000 Rs annual charges at Max for a UF+UV machine you need to spend around 5k whenever u need to change consumable like cartridges etc. With this background as far as I know Aquaguard, Urban and now Atomberg had come up with systems which offers double life ie. 12000 ltrs before replacement (earlier it was 6000). Please forgive me if I missed other companies.
Now when I read about this particular model of Atomberg, it has few great features. Like (1) it will measure TDS in the input and if it is below 300 it will bypass the RO section. (2) if you like you can vary the output TDS up to 150 in steps of 50. (3) it will not force you to change all the cartridge/filters at once. Instead it will check/diagnose and tell you which particular one needs to be replaced. This I liked. Second they say u do not worry about AMC. u pay for technician visit. Let us see how this works.
Now a twist in the store (not bad, but still a twist) I saw this model was showing around 700 TDS for my bore water and 400+ for my municipal water. How come this variation of 300 on my hand held device and 400+ on this machine. Further reading (in atomberg app help itself + reference provided) tells me that Atomberg uses a more refined way of TDS of 40:40:20 (a mixture of salts) and not just NaCl found out in sea water. So the mismatch between the readings.
After two three weeks of usage, I saw that it wastes minimum water, allows me to observe and changes options from my smartphone and finally it has a vacation mode which helps in maintaining clean status during my absence on vacation. So overall I say this moment I am happy for this purchase. Let us see how their promises work out to be.
Urban m1 + in-tank ring type uv light; no ro switching. Atomberg + ro switch below 300 tds; + not necessary to change all consumables at once.
